Welcome to SoccerGameSense.com

In a 2013 random survey of clubs and coaches in over 50 nations, survey respondents expressed the greatest interest in highly effective "how to" content that is easy to implement and improves the level of play, speed of play, understanding, creativity and success of their soccer players.

A 2014 search engine inquiry found for "soccer coaching" found 40 million pages. Clearly many aren't finding what they need so we researched over 7,000 soccer research studies that report findings on the current state of the game, clubs, coaches and players.

“The formulation of the problem is often more essential than its solution"                                                                                                 Albert Einstein

The majority of the research studies report results of research but do not suggest solutions for the good of the game. For example, one study found:
  • most coaches and players fixate on the ball and player in possession for 54 seconds out of every minute, leaving 6 seconds or less to scan the field for teammates, opponents and open spaces, and
  • only a few players actually scan the field for teammates, opponents and open spaces for up to 26 seconds a minute.

The problem suggested is how do you train coaches and players to scan for teammates, opponents and open spaces for up to 26 seconds a minute.

Our research included Dr. Arthur Seiderman's "The Athletic Eye" published in 1984, the ground breaking vision training text used in professional and Olympic sports and tips from an interview with a NASCAR driver.

At home and on the way to and from practice exercises were created and tested. Simple 4 vs. 4 practice games were used to assess improvement with 4 player teams doing eye exercises playing teams that did no vision training. After 4 weeks U8 and older players who did vision training played faster.

Research studies have identified many areas for potential improvements for the good of the game. If you do not find the content you need please use the Visitor Feedback Survey link at the bottom of pages to let us know what you are looking for.

Best Results in Least Time

Our goal is to accelerate learning by offering at home exercises and online videos, animations, diagrams and tutorials to teach what can be taught away from the field and to reserve practice time for hands on instruction.

We also offer videos, animations, diagrams and tutorials for many practice exercises and games. Players who preview what they will be do in practice have been shown to learn faster. Sample exercise.

Your players ONLY have access to the exercises you want them to learn!

No player remembers everything you teach or what's on pages you ask them to look at . . . but learning is contagious. When players learn and and become successful then their teammates will learn from them.

Soccer Development Center

The Soccer Development Center, with hundreds of pages of animations, diagrams, videos, tutorials and online interactive training for players opens in April 2016. Link under Home tab becomes live in April, 2016.

Clubs, Technical Directors, coaches, schools and teachers have access to the Soccer Development Center "Content Library" and can select those pages they want their players to have access to. Player pages have no navigation to other content so players only see what you want them to see. You, as their group leader, are in complete control of what they learn.

You send your players the links to the pages you want them to learn. Or clubs, schools, teams and other organizations can also post the links their players should go to on their own webpages.

Security - Many nations Internet Privacy and Safety laws with respect to Internet access by children and teens require that underage players enter their own unique log in and password as assigned by their group leader.

Privacy -
You, your players group leader, are the only one who has your player's personal information. We only collect the player's month and year of birth, gender, how long they have played soccer and at what level they play. This information is used to assess what content is being used by and is most successful with specific age groups by gender. The login process requires a unique email address and password as assigned by you the group leader. Soccer Game Sense does not use the player login email you provide or make it available to any other organization or individual.

Group Subscription - Provides access to the Player Development Center for a group leader (club, school, director, coach or teacher), an assistant and their players. In areas where clubs and schools do not offer access to the Soccer Development Center a Family Subscription Plan is available.
